Your Lactation Educator

The prenatal session offers the opportunity to discuss all the specifics that pertain to your journey, before it begins.  Once we get to know each other, I know where to focus my energy for your immediate desires and needs, and you feel comfortable with me supporting your family.  Are you heading back to work, want to build up a supply, still nursing another child, need recommendations on positions, pumps, or bottles, need to learn how to use a pump, want to know the do's and do not's for success, the list goes on.  We will address whatever your individual needs are at the time.  You will learn the many benefits my education and experience can bring to you during this time.

The in home session allows the opportunity for me to pay attention to every detail and offer guidance and techniques to get and keep feeding on the right track.  Revisiting the goals, as well as addressing new questions or concerns that arise once you begin this journey, provide the tailored support that creates successes. My support continues for the extent of time you feel is needed, as teething, food introduction, weaning, etc., may require additional support.  The follow-up visit is important to ensure that any changes, as they happen so frequently with a new baby, will be adapted to successfully by everyone.

To make communication between us simple, I have a direct email and phone number for you to text or call.  As your lactation educator, you can call, text or email me at any time to ask questions, share news, or just chat.

Your Journey with Your Lactation Educator Always Includes

Availability throughout pregnancy and beyond for evidence-based information and resources as well as emotional support for you and your partner. We provide resources and recommendations to all things birth-related including birth education, lactation, prenatal massage, parent groups, chiropractors etc., and offer a lending library of books.

Prenatal Support

A time for us to get to know one another but also to help you feel prepared. I tailor prenatal sessions to your specific needs and package selected, but always discuss and provide a variety of evidenced-based information regarding lactation for both parent and  baby. We will talk about what you might expect in the hospital, once at home, give tips on ways to promote rest for healing, and foods beneficial to healing and milk production.  We will also discuss on how you might mentally prepare and manage all the changes that occur during such a transitional time.

Family Support

Adding to the family, whether this is your first child or fifth, creates changes to the family dynamic.  Although breast/chest feeding is often seen as occurring strictly between the birthing parent and baby, I will help each member of the family see all the ways they can specifically help support them, which are vital to success.  Family walks together on this golden path.

Continued Support

After our in home support is wrapped up, do not worry I am still your lactation support!  It will continue for your family as long as you wish.  As things change, you may have questions that arise, discover a new need, want to share milestones, or just chat for reassurance.  Whatever it is, I am just a message or phone call away!  Your breastfeeding journey is one I will excitedly continue to travel on with you!

You deserve to have experienced guides supporting you on your journey.
